Civilization 5 crashes repeatedly on my system. I can play for 10 minutes but then the system will crash.
I am playing Civilization 5 gods and kings (from the Gold Edition / Steam install).
Here is my system.
Here is my dxdialog and other info:http://pastebin.com/kcT1xJKY
And then my civ 5 configurationhttp://pastebin.com/7T8YbfHq
I also found a lot of people are having the same problem. I don't really see a good solution in there.
I found this, there doesn't seem to be a solution (overheating and civ 5):

Best way to I've found is to
1) Use directx 9
2) turn off full screen. Miley cyrus discography.

To solve this problem you can try running the game in DirectX 9 mode. If that doesn't work there are other solutions that have worked for other people. Gigaware optical mouse driver windows 7.
You can find instructions for fixing Civilization 5 freezing and crashing here: http://www.thefakegeek.com/2013/12/how-to-stop-civilization-v-from-freezing-and-crashing/

Patch 174 Civilization Iv Cheats Pc
So I have a group of three friends who I play Civ with. But one of these friends is significantly better than us. I pretty well accept that he is more strategic than us and we need to get good. But he has a long history of cheating on games, and it does not help that the first game I played with him on Civ. He cheated and won, and admitted to it.
His normal excuse when cheating is that there is some kind of error in his game (And it happens in multiple games he cheats in) and normally the cheat benefits him when he is host (Of the game) and breaks our games when we are host. More specifically for Civ 5 when we all play without him, we can host fine. But when we host and he is playing, his buildings disappear, his units disappear, and bad stuff starts happening then INSISTS he has to host. Because apparently the only way we can play together is if he hosts. When he hosts, nothing bad happens although we get loading screens at critical points (Like in wars) and fairly often in mid game (When he starts getting ahead)
When he cheated the first time I played with him. He admitted every time he cheats it desync's and we need to go through a loading screen. But now he pretends they are just normal loading screens and still gets drastically ahead of us. I don't think he is always cheating. Because then it would be obvious. But I wonder if he is not boosting himself in some way. And it sounds awfully suspicious that only he is allowed to host, he has terrible glitches no one else seems to have when we host. And when we play with him there are lots of loading screens, but when we play normally (without him) there are nearly no loading screens.
What do you guys think? Do you think he is cheating? Or could this be an actual error? He has claimed to have reinstalled his Civ numerous times and it never fixed it. (And again, he has a history of mysterious glitches as excuses to cheat) But if it is a actual technical problem. How can we help him fix it?
